SUNDAY 13th jULY 2014

Lilje - front garden

Single flock of Starlings took me a bit by surprise as they were moving fast and at height more like a migrating flock than a post breeding feeding flock ?

The Hobby performed superbly dashing around our walnut tree after the Swallows which had recently arrived to rest amongst the dead branches. Its flashing aerobatics produced no results. Then it landed again giving excellent views at perhaps only 10 meters distance !

THURSDAY 10th JULY 2014

Liplje

Heard swifts calling and watched a tight flock moving quickly at high altitude.
First for Liplje.
All woodpeckers heard calling around home, the Lesser Pecker has been calling/singing here for over a week now which suggests it may be holding territory.

FRIDAY 4th JULY 2014

Cevetovac, north of Lazarevac
Possible sand and gravel Quarry next to E763

Saw this site from the road and decided to stop for a quick look. Absolutely huge quarry approximately 2km x 6km with another on the opposite side of the road about 10 x 3km.
Appears to have good potential for shore birds and passage species.
